Window cleaners offer everything from gutter clearing to garden maintenance. Here's how to choose add-on services, price them and sell them to customers you already have.

Do you offer more than window cleaning?

When PanePal asked window cleaners which extra services they offer, the answers ranged from gutter cleaning all the way to garden maintenance.

Extras are one of the easiest ways to earn more. The customer already trusts you, you're already at the house, and there's no extra travel.

Popular extras to consider

Most add-ons build on the kit and skills you already have:

  • Gutter clearing.
  • Fascia and soffit cleaning.
  • Conservatory roof cleaning.
  • Solar panel cleaning.
  • Softwashing and roof cleaning.
  • Pressure washing driveways and patios.
  • Others that suit your area โ€” bin cleaning, garden tidy-ups and more.

Sell to the customers you already have

You don't need new customers to sell extras. Many existing customers would happily book a gutter clear or a conservatory roof โ€” they just don't know you do it.

Tell them. Mention it on the doorstep, add a line to your invoices, or let customers see every service you offer in one place so they can ask for it when they need it.

Price extras for your time

Price each extra on how long it takes plus any extra kit or products. Jobs like gutter clearing and conservatory roofs take longer than a window clean, so they should be priced that way.

Example: if gutter clearing takes you an hour and you want ยฃ30 an hour, it's worth at least ยฃ30 โ€” even if it feels like a lot next to a ยฃ12 window clean.

Set a target and track it

Pick a realistic goal โ€” say, one in ten of your customers taking gutters once a year โ€” and work out what that would add up to. Seeing the number makes it far easier to keep offering.

Then keep track of who has had each service and when. A customer who had their gutters done last year is the easiest sale this year.

How PanePal helps

PanePal shows what extras like gutters, fascias and conservatory roofs could add across your customers, and tracks your target. Add your own services too โ€” they show in your customers' Home Care section in their app, so they can ask for them.

Just starting out? PanePal is free for up to 25 customers โ€” no card and no time limit.
